Raymond E. Feist
Raymond E. Feist was born in Southern California but now resides in San Diego. He lives with novelist Kathlyn Starbuck, his wife; their growing family includes one child and two cats.* Raymond holds a B.A. in Communication Arts from UCSD and has been on the New York Times Bestseller List 4 times. Some of his most well known books are Riftwar Saga (Magician, Silverthorn, A Darkness at Sethanon), and Daughter of the Empire, Servant of the Empire and Mistress of the Empire with Janny Wurts.
Feist's earlier writings are celebrated by many but some of his newer works, including his "Conclave of Shadows" series have been considered predictable and "without personality or complexity". I can't account for any of his recent writings but his earlier works are definitely worth the read.
