Terry Pratchet started writing at a very young age. He wrote his first book,The Carpet People when he was 13 which appeared in stores 4 years later in 1971. Pratchet is most known for Discworld which is a rather large series that It started out as a parody of all the fantasy that was around in the big boom of the early '80s, and then just kept going and going. There are currently 25 books in the series.
His acclaimed novels have sold more than 21 million copies worldwide and have been translated into 27 languages. Terry Pratchett lives in England with his family, and spends most days at his computer, writing.
